Laura is J-PAL’s regional lead on Francophone countries, where she supports practitioners and policymakers in adapting, piloting and scaling TaRL.
Dr. Kizito Omala
Kizito is a Statistics lecturer and EASST Fellow at Makerere University. He is currently working on strategies to scale up TaRL in Uganda.
SENIOR MANAGER, BETA
At Evidence Action, Sasha supports Winning Start and early-stage education interventions. She joined Beta from DIV at USAID and was previously a public school teacher.
Noam is the Director of Young 1ove – an NGO based in Botswana committed to scaling-up evidence in health & education by youth for youth.
Wilfried works on a variety of education programmes including active teaching and learning, educator professional development, early grade reading, and inclusive education.
Winny Cherotich Ngeno
SENIOR PROGRAM OFFICER
Winny is responsible for supporting growth and ensuring the smooth functioning of the PAL network as a whole, and supports the assessment for action strand.
GLOBAL HEAD OF EDUCATION
Ramya leads Street Child’s operations and programs in Asia, and offers oversight and support for education projects in Africa and Asia.
Tom is an education leader and social influencer with 20+ years of work experience in 22 countries on 4 continents. He has experience in engineering, leadership and international development.
Daniel works on large education system reform programmes, notably in Sierra Leone and Tanzania. His experience includes systems strengthening and school leadership.
CONTENT DEVELOPER & TRAINER
Indresh has over 7 years’ experience in content development and training. Since 2016, he has been collaborating on TaRL programs internationally.
TEACHING AND LEARNING LEAD
Yeniva has developed a portfolio of diverse skills and experience across private and public sector in the US and the African continent.
PRINCIPAL LITERACY SPECIALIST
Marcia recently joined AIR as Principal Literacy Specialist and Researcher in the Policy and Practice division in International Education.
Dr. Shettima Bukar Kullima
Borno State Universal Basic Education Board, Maiduguri
Dr. Kullima is a seasoned historian, academic, and administrator. He is currently working on a collaborative effort to pilot TaRL in Borno.
DEPUTY DIRECTOR, RCME
Nompumelelo is a PhD candidate at the University of Stellenbosch. She works at the Research, Coordination, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate at the DBE.
HEAD OF PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Devyani leads Pratham teams responsible for planning, tracking, reviewing, and reporting for all education programs and leads Pratham’s development activities.
SENIOR TECHNICAL CONSULTANT
Hannah-May is a Senior Technical Consultant for the PAL Network, leading the implementation of special projects globally.
DIRECTOR OF PRIMARY EDUCATION
Ministry of Education, Kenya
Mr. Abdi is currently the Director of Primary Education in the Ministry of Education, Kenya and holds M.A & B.Edu(Arts).
DIRECTOR: CONTENT CREATION AND TRAINING
Usha creates learning processes, sets learning goals, conducts trainings, and leads Pratham’s international collaborations.
Debbie is an MEL specialist with over ten years’ education development experience. She works on a provincial Grade 4 academic support programme.
Modupe is Managing Director of the TEP Centre and Program Director for the LEARNigeria Citizen-Led Assessment and its TaRL Initiative.
NATIONAL OFFICER - EDUCATION
Adamu has over 25 years of working experience in managing education projects. He currently coordinates the implementation of TaRL in Maiduguri Nigeria.
SENIOR PROGRAMME OFFICER
Inyang works in the Assessment and Advocacy Unit of the TEP Centre and is managing the design and implementation of a TaRL pilot in two Nigerian states.
SENIOR ADVISOR (BASIC EDUCATION)
Nobuhiro oversees JICA’s community-based education development program and serves as the focal point of tripartite cooperation with Pratham and J-PAL.
SENIOR IMPLEMENTATION ASSOCIATE
Joyce specializes in education projects and leads the implementation of a targeted instruction program in Ghana with strong government collaboration.
Dr. Stephen Taylor
DIRECTOR: RESEARCH, MONITORING AND EVALUATION
Department of Basic Education
Dr. Stephen Taylor is the Director of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation in the DBE and leads several education impact evaluations.
Chavi has worked on M&E systems for Pratham-led and government-led TaRL interventions in India. Currently, she supports TaRL interventions in Africa.
Fred works on design, implementation and program management with the government of Kenya’s youth led volunteering program called G-United.
Samyukta handles documentation and research for Pratham’s international projects.
Robert is a Policy Associate at J-PAL focusing on education. His role includes disseminating the latest evidence on TaRL to stakeholders.
Dr. Stella Kachiwanda
DEPUTY CHIEF OF PARTY
Dr. Kachiwanda is a Team Leader for the Malawi National Reading Programme – YESA project which will begin implementing a TaRL-inspired program in October 2018.
Dr. Rukmini Banerji
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Rukmini joined Pratham in 1996 and has played key roles in developing and implementing Pratham’s programs, including leading the ASER initiative launched in 2005.
As an Education Specialist at UNICEF Zambia, Luonde works closely with the Ministry of General Education and supports the Catch Up program.
Samantha oversees program design, monitoring and partnerships for Beta projects like G-United, a Government of Kenya led program using TaRL.
Marion supports the Ministry of Education in adapting, piloting, and the first Teaching at the Right Level intervention in Côte d’Ivoire.
PROVINCIAL RESOURCE CENTRE COORDINATOR
Margaret has 30 years’ teaching experience in secondary and primary education and is currently involved in Catch Up implementation in Eastern Province.
PROGRAM MANAGER - ZAMBIA
Nico has managed VVOB’s programs and projects in Zambia since August 2017, including supporting the Catch Up program.
DIRECTOR OF POLICY & COMMUNICATIONS
Heidi works with IPA’s 21 country programs to develop policy strategies, craft policy-focused products, and lead events for policy audiences.
ASUKA WORLD CONSULTANT
Hara is a development consultant in the education sector and a chief adviser of the school-based management project in Madagascar.
PROVINCIAL RESOURCE CENTRE COORDINATOR
Nsamwa is an in-service teacher trainer. She has been involved in training teachers and providing mentoring and monitoring support for the Catch Up programme.
Virginia is steering the Accelerated Learning programme at ziziAfrique. Previously, she lead Monitoring and Evaluation for the Opportunity Schools Project.
