The Focus on Foundations Virtual workshop, was hosted on 29 October 2020. As children return to school, we recommend connecting assessment with action and focusing on the foundations to ensure equitable learning for all. The workshop began with a presentation by Rukmini Banerji (CEO, Pratham) to introduce the topic, and explain assessments and the TaRL approach. The rest of the workshop focused on facilitated discussions on the following topics:
- Group 1: Discussing existing evidence and the need for further research. This group is geared towards people interested in research.
- Group 2: Challenges to working with Education systems at scale. This group is geared towards people/organisations interested in working within existing Education systems to implement TaRL.
- Group 3: Organisational capacity to implement TaRL. This group is geared towards organisations interested in directly implementing TaRL approaches.
